FIRST AMERICAN TITLE AND SMITH, THOMPSON, SHAW AND MANAUSA ENTER STRATEGIC BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

First American Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers and a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) family of companies, today announced that it has entered into a strategic business relationship with the Tallahassee, Fla.–based law firm Smith, Thompson, Shaw and Manausa, P.A. (Smith).
Under this agreement, Smith has become an exclusive agent of First American, combining the region’s two largest title plants. Together, Smith and First American share 60 to 70 percent of the regional market, with Smith providing real estate and escrow closings for Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla counties.

Conway, First American’s regional vice president of Florida. “The synergy of the two companies and the combination of the two title plants will result in a relationship that will allow First American to provide faster and more efficient title evidence and real estate services to Smith and other First American title agents in the three county area.”
Smith, Thompson, Shaw and Manausa specializes in real estate law and performs closings, probate, foreclosures and document preparation for lenders, real estate agents and developers.
