FIRST AMERICAN TRUST ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

First American Trust, a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) family of companies, today announced the addition of four business development officers. The appointments include Susan M. Frank, Ray C. Cherry and Kimberly A. Dwan as vice president-investment advisory and fiduciary services and W. Scott Hyster as vice president-retirement plan services.
Frank, who is based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, Calif., specializes in comprehensive wealth management services for corporations, nonprofit organizations and high net worth individuals and families. A seasoned veteran with more than 20 years of experience, she is an accomplished public speaker and frequently conducts seminars and workshops on investments, retirement planning, asset and liability management, financial planning and asset allocation for individuals and corporations.
A graduate of Vassar College in New York, Frank holds Series 3, Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers, as well as licenses from the California Department of Real Estate and the California Department of Insurance. She also is a founding member of The Professional Women’s Forum.
Cherry, who is based in the company’s San Diego office, is responsible for promoting First American’s broad menu of services, including personal and charitable giving trusts, retirement planning, investment management, individual retirement accounts and real estate services. His broad knowledge of financial products was gained during a career spanning more than 15 years.
Cherry earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona, and holds a Series 7 license from the National Association of Securities Dealers. His professional and community affiliations include serving as a member of the National Planned Giving Committee and the American Red Cross. He also has served as a member of the Desert Planned Giving Roundtable and the San Diego Food Bank.
Working from the company’s Newport Beach office, Dwan specializes in comprehensive wealth management services for high net worth individuals and families, as well as nonprofit foundations and endowments. She is knowledgeable in a broad spectrum of financial services including estate and charitable planning, investment management, retirement planning and real estate. Dwan brings more than 15 years of experience to her position with First American.
Dwan’s professional affiliations include membership in the Orange County Estate Planning Council and Planned Giving Roundtable of Orange County. She also is actively involved in her community, serving as a trustee of the Assessment Treatment Services Center, in addition to committee involvement with the Discovery Science Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Hyster also is based in the Santa Ana office. He comes to First American with more than 10 years of experience creating 401(k) products for institutions and corporations throughout the western United States. His thorough knowledge of plan regulations and creative problem-solving skills allow him to effectively assess customer requirements and develop effective solutions.
Hyster has served as a trainer and mentor to retirement plan sales associates and has been a guest speaker at various professional investment conferences and academic business workshops. He holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree in finance with a minor in accounting from Idaho State University, as well as a Series 7 license from the National Association of Securities Dealers.
