LARRY DAVIDSON NAMED PRESIDENT OF SMS SETTLEMENT SERVICES, INC.

The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), the nation’s leading, diversified provider of business information and related products and services, today announced that Larry Davidson has been named president of its subsidiary, SMS Settlement Services, Inc. SMS is the nation’s leading provider of software and related services to the title and escrow industries.
Prior to joining First American, Davidson served as vice president-corporate sales with a leading financial services company. He joined First American in 1999 as vice president, e-commerce lending. In that role, he was responsible for managing relationships for the company’s emerging dot-com businesses.
“Larry’s extensive background in sales and marketing, as well as his experience managing direct day-to-day operations for a major financial services company well-qualify him for this position,” said John M. Hollenbeck, executive vice president-technology initiatives for The First American Corporation.
Davidson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fontbonne College in St. Louis. He has been involved in numerous professional and community organizations, including the California Land Title Association, the Pond Athletic Association in St. Louis, the Wisconsin Consumer Finance Association and the Minnesota Consumer Finance Association. He also has served as a coach and umpire for the San Juan Little League and Dana Point Youth Baseball since 1995.
A native of Minnesota, Davidson relocated to California six years ago. He and his wife, Kim Marie, live in Dana Point with their sons, Tony and Erik.
