FIRST AMERICAN TRUST NAMES R. DANIEL BANIS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT—MARKETING AND NATIONAL SALES

First American Trust, FSB, a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) family of companies, today announced that R. Daniel Banis has joined the company as executive vice president with responsibility for marketing and national sales.
In this new position, Banis will oversee all marketing and business development activities for First American Trust and work with First American Capital Management, the investment management subsidiary of The First American Corporation.
With more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry, Banis has extensive knowledge of the issues specific to high net worth clients, including complex trusts and multigenerational family wealth issues. He comes to First American following more than six years with Fidelity Investments, where he was national sales manager of the Portfolio Advisory Services Division of the Private Wealth Management Group. Banis’ previous experience also includes positions in trust services with two of the nation’s largest banks.
Active in the local community, Banis has held leadership positions with a number of civic organizations. He is an honorary board member and past chairman of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, past treasurer for the Friends of Sierra Madre Library, and past executive committee member and board member of St. Philip the Apostle School. He currently is a member of the Fiduciary Round Table of San Gabriel Valley.
After earning a M.B.A. from California State University at Los Angeles, Banis completed additional coursework through Harvard Business School’s Executive Education and John F. Kennedy School Programs. He holds a Commercial Banking Certificate from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, as well as Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers. Currently a resident of Dover, Mass., Banis will relocate to Southern California with his wife, Heather, and their two daughters.
