JOHN R. THOMA APPOINTED CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER FOR FIRST AMERICAN TITLE INSURANCE COMPANY

First American Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers, today announced that John R. Thoma has been appointed as chief financial officer.
Thoma has served as First American’s northwest regional controller and chief financial officer of its subsidiary in Oregon since joining the company in 1996. He assumed additional duties as state manager for Alaska in 2000. Prior to joining First American, Thoma spent eight years with Price Waterhouse, most recently serving as senior manager in the audit department.
A certified public accountant, Thoma holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oregon. He is involved with several boards and committees, including service as a director of the Portland chapter of Financial Executives International.
Thoma resides in Portland with his wife, Christine, and their children, Mary and Harrison.
