MICHAEL F. WAIWOOD PROMOTED TO STATE MANAGER AND APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF OHIO SUBSIDIARY

First American Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers, today announced that Michael F. Waiwood has been promoted to Ohio state manager and appointed president of the company’s Cleveland-based subsidiary, Midland Title Security, Inc.
A seasoned professional with more than 30 years of experience in the title industry, Waiwood’s tenure with First American began in 1977 when he joined Midland Title as chief title counsel. Two years later he was named executive vice president, general counsel and director. In 1986, he took on the added duties as senior regional counsel for First American Title Insurance Company in Cleveland, and in 1989, was promoted to vice president.
Waiwood is actively involved in a number of professional organizations, including the Building Industry Association, the Ohio Land Title Association and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Real Estate Specialization Committee since 2001 and its Board of Governors since 2002. Additionally, Waiwood serves as president of the Ohio Title Insurance Rating Bureau and frequently lectures throughout Ohio and Kentucky on a wide variety of real estate-related topics.
Currently a resident of Strongsville, Waiwood is a graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland. He and his wife, Ann, are the parents of seven children.
