SMS, Settlement Services Inc., a premier software provider to the title and escrow industry, announced today that it has acquired InfoStream, Inc. of Tacoma, Wash. Terms of the transaction, which closed earlier this month, were not disclosed.

InfoStream has been providing software solutions to the escrow and title market since 1984. This strategic acquisition strengthens its market share in the Northwest and elsewhere while simultaneously enabling SMS to provide its customers with more choices for title and escrow closing software. InfoStream’s key software, Streamline, is an integrated suite of products encompassing title production, escrow closing and trust accounting that will add to SMS’ existing menu of popular and successful offerings.

“The addition of InfoStream and its Streamline software suite provides SMS with a unique opportunity to increase market share and cross selling opportunities, while complementing our software offerings in the national market,” said Larry Davidson, president of SMS, Settlement Services, Inc. “With our recent successful launch of Smart Docs, our newest escrow documentation software, we now have the widest selection of software solutions for both title operations and escrow closing operations nationwide.”

SMS, serving the escrow and title industry for more than 26 years, is headquartered in Orange, Calif., with satellite offices in Tacoma, Wash., Milpitas, Calif. and Cleveland, Ohio. For additional information please visit the company’s Web site at
