First American Title Insurance Company Names Jeffrey A. Weber Associate General Counsel

First American Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers, today announced that Jeffrey A. Weber, vice president, has been named to the additional post of associate general counsel. His responsibilities include supervision of general litigation and administration of claims on a national basis.
Weber’s tenure with First American began in 1997, when he was appointed vice president-regional claims counsel for the company’s office in Washington, D.C. Later that same year, he relocated to the Baltimore, Md., office and took on additional duties as Maryland state counsel. He was promoted to Maryland state manager in 2000, and also continued to serve as vice president and regional claims counsel for First American’s mid-Atlantic region, which encompasses Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. In 2001, Weber relocated to the company’s home office in Santa Ana, Calif., where he served as vice president and senior national claims counsel overseeing litigation and claims in the eastern half of the United States.
Prior to joining First American, Weber was a principal in the Annapolis, Md., law firm of McNamee, Hosea, Jernigan & Kim, P.A., where his emphasis was on real estate litigation.
A native of Maryland, Weber earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a juris doctor from the University of Baltimore Law School. He and his family currently reside in Orange County.
