First American Appoints Chip Carmer Regional Vice President and President of Arizona Division
January 7, 2004, SANTA ANA, Calif.
First American Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers, today announced that Chip Carmer has been promoted to the positions of regional vice president for the Southwest region and president of the Arizona division. Operating out of the company’s Phoenix office, Carmer will oversee operations in Arizona and Utah and share responsibility for monitoring operations in the state of Nevada with Lynn A. Donner, Nevada regional vice president.
Carmer brings 22 years of title experience to his position. Since joining First American in 1993, he has held various positions in both title and escrow operations, including experience in First American’s National Commercial Services division. He has held executive positions at title companies in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and California. Most recently, Carmer served as county manager and division vice president of First American Title Company in Santa Clara County, Calif.
Carmer is active both in his community and in the industry, having served on the board of trustees at St. Andrews School in Saratoga, Calif., and as advisory director of the San Jose Jazz Society. He is a member of the American and Arizona Land Title Associations and a former member of the California Land Title Association where he served on the legislative committee.
Carmer earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. He and his wife, Jennifer, currently reside in Los Gatos, Calif.
