First American Title Insurance Company today announced that Mark S. Webber has been appointed to the position of Utah state manager. Working from the company’s Salt Lake City office, Webber will oversee all direct and agency operations for the state of Utah.
Webber comes to this position following nearly 10 years as president of Equity Title Insurance Agency, Inc., which he formed in 1995 in partnership with Orange Coast Title Company of Santa Ana, Calif. Under his leadership, Equity Title grew substantially and currently operates 18 offices with 160 employees. His past experience also includes nine years as an attorney at the law firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer, one of the oldest and best-known law firms in the intermountain region. As a shareholder in the litigation department, he gained expertise in commercial real estate and title issues.
A past president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Utah State Bar Association, Webber also is a member of the Salt Lake County and American Bar Associations. In addition to his professional affiliations, he currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Children’s Dance Theater at the University of Utah and as president-elect of the Alumni Association of Brigham Young University’s Law School.
Webber holds bachelor’s degrees in finance and marketing from the University of Utah and a juris doctor from Brigham Young University. He and his wife, Marcia, reside in Salt Lake City with their four children.
