January 10, 2007, SANTA ANA, Calif.

First American Title Insurance Company today announced the appointment of two seasoned executives to run its National Commercial Services (NCS) division. Sally French Tyler, the division’s new president, succeeds Curt Johnson, who was recently promoted to president of First American Title Insurance Company. Working closely with Tyler will be Joseph J. Ghilardi, who has been named senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of National Commercial Services.

In their new roles, Tyler and Ghilardi will be responsible for planning and overseeing the operational management of First American’s commercial real estate activities, as well as coordinating activities and strategies for First American’s commercial real estate regions throughout the United States

“Sally and Joe are tremendous leaders with an extensive amount of commercial real estate experience and know-how,” said Johnson. “Their insight and enthusiasm have already proved to be valuable resources for our company and our commercial customers. I look forward to working with them as we continue to grow our commercial services division.”

A 20-year veteran of the title insurance industry, Tyler joined First American in January 2005 as senior vice president-national sales director, where she has overseen all national sales initiatives, including the establishment of strategies, recruiting, training and key customer development. Tyler began her career by working for a small real estate developer, before transitioning to the title industry in 1986. Since that time, she has worked on national account sales, regional operations management and sales management, as well as has performed closing and underwriting functions for numerous major commercial customers.

Tyler is currently a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC); Real Estate Group of Atlanta (REGA); the Urban Land Institute (ULI); Pension Real Estate Association (PREA); and CREW Network, a professional women’s commercial real estate organization of nearly 7,000 members located in more than 60 cities nationwide and throughout Canada. She has also served on the board of several industry organizations, including a term as president of CREW Network in 2001, a member of that organization’s board from 1999 to 2002 and president of its Atlanta chapter from 1996 to 1997. In addition, Tyler served as a trustee for the CREW Foundation, the charitable arm of CREW Network, from 2001 to 2002; as president of REGA in 2004; and as a former member of the Dixie Land Title Association (DLTA) and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

In addition to her extensive industry experience and expertise, Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and has been profiled in numerous industry trades, including the National Real Estate Investor’s 40 Stars of Tomorrow (1998), Commercial Lender, Commercial Property News, National Real Estate Investor, Business to Business and Globe Street.

Ghilardi also has extensive experience with commercial transactions. After beginning his title industry career with another large national title underwriter, he joined First American’s operations in Michigan as state counsel in 1997. He was quickly promoted to county manager in 1998, then joined NCS in 1999 when he was named vice president and manager of the national accounts division’s Michigan operations. He went on to serve as Midwest regional director of NCS for four years before being promoted to his most recent position as the division’s central region managing director.

Ghilardi, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law, has been an active member of the Michigan and Florida State Bar Associations.

First American’s NCS division provides single-point service for simple to multi-property/multi-state national commercial real estate transactions. Handled by industry experts utilizing cutting-edge technology systems, the transactional process is easier, quicker and met with outstanding relationship management.
