MarketLinx Names Robert Murray Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer


April 2, 2007, IRVINE, Calif.

MarketLinx Inc., a leading provider of information technology to the residential real estate industry, today announced the appointment of Robert Murray as senior vice president and chief information officer. Murray, who will assume his duties on April 2, 2007, will be responsible for establishing and directing the strategic long-term goals, policies and procedures for MarketLinx’s information technology products.

Murray has more than 25 years of experience in senior architecture and development management. He began his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories and spent 14 years with the company in various leadership roles. While at AT&T, Murray was a member of the team that rolled out the C++ programming language to the rest of the industry, and his group also produced the first commercially available C++ class libraries. Murray was the founding editor of “The C++ Report Magazine” published from 1989 through 2000, and also authored “C++ Strategies and Tactics,” an intermediate programming textbook with more than 25,000 copies sold and translated into French, Japanese, Chinese and Polish.

After leaving AT&T, Murray held various executive-level positions with companies focusing on Internet technologies. He served as the chief technology officer of Red Sky Interactive, a 650-person Web development professional services firm that built consumer Web sites for such companies as Diet Coke®, Miller Brewing Company, Johnny Walker®, Altoids®, and Slim Jim®. He also held a development executive role with a national title insurance underwriter, as well as various vice president-engineering positions at firms in the process automation and auto insurance industries.

Prior to joining MarketLinx, Murray was vice president, enterprise technology architecture for The First American Corporation's Enterprise Technology Group, where he was responsible for enterprise-level technology strategy and guidance for projects that spanned across multiple First American business units.

Murray holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern California. His additional accreditations include the Certified Mortgage Technologist (CMT) designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.
