First American Executive Recognized for Outstanding Leadership Achievement by NELI
—Teresa Merritt-de Jong to be Presented with 2008 CareerFOCUS Eagle Award at Annual Awards Gala in November—

The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), today announced that Teresa Merritt-de Jong is one of 16 corporate leaders who have been selected to receive a 2008 CareerFOCUS Eagle Award. The award, which is one of corporate America’s highest accolades in executive leadership achievement, was established by the National Eagle Leadership Institute® (NELI) and CareerFOCUS Magazine™ to recognize Black/African-American and Hispanic/Latino professionals who excel in both corporate and community leadership.
Each year, the award is given to individuals who practice principled leadership and whose records of performance uphold the highest standards of dignity, integrity and honor. This year’s awards will be presented on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at the 16th Annual CareerFOCUS Eagle Awards Gala in Chicago. Additionally, each of this year’s winners and their nominating companies will be featured in CareerFOCUS Magazine’s November/December 2008 edition.
As an Eagle Award winner, Merritt-de Jong will join a network of more than 250 recipients who have been recognized for outstanding leadership achievement since the award was launched in 1993. She also will serve a two-year term on NELI’s Eagle Roundtable Advisory Council and as an advisor to NELI’s Corporate Bound Academy™ Leadership Challenge, which informs, influences and inspires college students who are poised for corporate leadership.
Merritt-de Jong serves as vice president, revenue accounting for First American CoreLogic, a subsidiary that is part of The First American Corporation’s Information Solutions Group. Her tenure with the company began in 2001 when she was named revenue accounting manager. She was promoted to director of revenue accounting in 2005, then to her current position as vice president in 2007.
