First American Donates $10,000 to Assist The Children and Community Health Center of McKinney, Texas
Donation will Help Provide Medical Treatment for Uninsured Parents and Their Children
April 7, 2008, SANTA ANA, Calif.
The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), America’s largest provider of business information, today announced that its Mortgage Information Services Group has donated $10,000 to the nonprofit Children and Community Health Center of McKinney, Texas.
The donation, which was made through First American’s Community Relations Group as part of the company’s ongoing dedication to supporting local communities, will assist the center in providing pediatric and adult medical care for uninsured residents in the McKinney area. The donation was made possible through corporate contributions, employee fundraising drives throughout the year and events such as the annual First American Charity Golf Classic held near Dallas, which is now in its ninth year.
“The Health Center plays a crucial role in the quality of life and quality of care for those in our community who are unable to afford medical treatment,” said Lewis Hill, executive vice president of First American’s Community Relations Group. “The Center runs on a simple premise: to provide care for everyone who needs it, regardless of their ability to pay. I am proud that First American can play a significant role in the Center’s continuing service to the community and in the important work of all of the organizations we assist.”
The Children and Community Health Clinic provides healthcare to children and adults free of charge without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or nationality. The only requirement is that the patient must be unable to access healthcare services through the traditional fee-for-service delivery system. The Center is staffed by volunteer doctors and has assisted more than 3,600 patients since opening in 2004.
“We thank First American for the generous support of our clinic and our work with uninsured parents and their children,” said Mary Nelle Cummins, founder of the Children and Community Health Center. “Through the efforts of First American, a company that takes such an active role in our community, we will continue to serve those in need.”
