—Call Center to Create as Many as 400 New Jobs Over Next 24 Months—

First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation, a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) family of companies, announced today that it will open a new customer service call center in Phoenix bringing more than 100 new jobs to the area in March of 2010.
First American chose to move its call center operations to Phoenix in order to take advantage of the city’s enhanced infrastructure, more convenient location and access to a larger labor pool. Supporting home warranty operations that span 35 states, First American plans to open its new call center in March with more than 100 new jobs. The company has plans to significantly grow its operations and anticipates creating as many 300 additional jobs over next 24 months.
“As we looked around the nation for a location for our new call center, Phoenix offered the ideal blend of technological infrastructure, convenience and access to talented employee candidates,” said Jeff Powell, vice president of First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation. “We plan to grow our operations over the next several years, and this new call center will enable us to provide the responsive support our customers deserve and expect.”

First American will begin hiring in January for a variety of positions, including inbound customer service and claims resolution specialists.
