First American Ranked Among the Best Workplaces in Financial Services by Fortune and Great Place to Work®

March 28, 2017, Santa Ana, Calif.

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a leading global provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real estate transactions, announced today that Fortune® and Great Place to Work® have recognized First American as one of the 40 Best Workplaces in Financial Services. The ranking is the result of an anonymous survey of 62,000 employees in the financial services and insurance industries administered by Great Place to Work®, a global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.

Earlier in 2017, Fortune® magazine also recognized First American as one of the 100 best companies to work for in America for the second consecutive year.

“Our people have solidified First American’s reputation for leadership and innovation in the title insurance and settlement services industry with the integrity, commitment and teamwork they display every day,” said Dennis Gilmore, CEO, First American Financial Corporation. “We put people first. We say it often, but that’s because it is central to how we conduct ourselves in business and as individuals. The end result is stronger relationships with our customers, our employees and the communities in which we operate.”

The Best Workplaces in Financial Services is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune® based on employee survey feedback. Employees at the winning organizations report high levels of trust in their management, as well as camaraderie and pride in what they do.

“Colleagues say their leaders at the Best Workplaces are consistent in their ethics and take an earnest interest in their teams’ feedback when making decisions. This reflects the high level of integrity customers expect from a business entrusted with their money,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work.

In 2016, Fortune® and Great Place to Work® also named First American as one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Women and 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity. First American has earned recognition as a “best place to work” 48 times in publications across the United States since 2012.

Internationally, the company’s Canadian subsidiary, FCT, was named by Great Place to Work® as one of that country’s Top 50 Best Workplaces in 2015 and 2016, and a 2017 Best Workplace in Canada for Women.
