First American Named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® List for Fifth Year in a Row

February 18, 2020, Santa Ana, Calif.

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a leading global provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real estate transactions, announced today that the company is one of the 2020 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For®, according to Fortune and global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work®. This marks the fifth straight year that First American has earned a place on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list.

“Five straight years as one of the best companies to work for is a tremendous recognition of the integrity, commitment and teamwork our people demonstrate day in and day out,” said Dennis J. Gilmore, CEO, First American Financial Corporation. “We strongly believe that putting people first matters, and this philosophy begins with our employees and extends from there to our customers, our shareholders and the communities in which we work.”

First American was among hundreds of companies evaluated for placement on the list. The evaluation is based on survey feedback from more than 650,000 employees, with respondents rating more than 60 elements of their workplace experience. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings are based on employees’ feedback and reward companies who best include all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the organization.

“The 100 Best show the way forward,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “These companies have created great places to work for all – for everyone, no matter who a person is or what they do for the organization. As a result, they have built a path to realize the promise of artificial intelligence, gain strength from a diversity of perspectives, and thrive during downturns.”

In 2019, Fortune® magazine and Great Place to Work recognized First American as one of the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women and the 2019 Best Workplaces for Diversity, each for the fourth consecutive year. The company was also named one of the Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance for the third consecutive year.

The company’s Canadian subsidiary, FCT, has been named by Great Place to Work® to the “Best Workplaces™ in Canada – 1000+ Employees” list for five consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019), and to the 2020 list of Best Workplaces™ for Inclusion.
