I assist investors and various tax professionals in learning how the 1031 exchange process can provide tax benefits relative to investments in real estate. I will provide you with the pertinent rules and regulations so that you can decide if the exchange process fits your particular needs.
I have been a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois since 1995. I also am a licensed real estate managing broker and have worked extensively in commercial real estate, more specifically in property management, leasing and sales. Currently I assist clients in learning how the 1031 exchange process can provide them with significant tax benefits in their investment real estate transactions and the rules regarding whether or not their circumstances might qualify for an exchange.
I graduated in 1992 from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I attended DePaul University College of Law and graduated in 1995. Since then, I have always lived in the Chicago area and have practiced law and have worked as a real estate managing broker. I was delighted to join First American Exchange Company in the spring of 2015 and am serving clients in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky.
