Jennifer Switalski
An experienced attorney with over 15 years of legal and title experience, Jennifer provides highly responsive underwriting guidance and support to help agents facilitate the successful closing of real estate transactions. Her responsibilities also include providing authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers, related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
Jennifer joined First American in 2017 as a commercial title officer, where she reviewed surveys, analyzed recorded documents, created pro forma policies and endorsements, and worked closely with underwriting counsel and escrow officers on commercial transactions. She became an underwriter in 2021 with a focus on commercial transactions. Prior to joining First American, Jennifer was a transactional attorney in the title department of a law firm in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In that position, she represented mortgage servicers and banks in residential default matters from the time of loan default through foreclosure sale and worked with title company underwriters and outside counsel to resolve title problems. She also served as a law clerk for the firm while attending law school.
Jennifer graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in general business administration-prelaw and received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. Jennifer is a member of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
