R. Martin Huey

Marty Huey, a highly-seasoned real estate attorney, brings over 36 years of experience in the business of real estate, from closing attorney to title attorney, with 8 years of experience as underwriting counsel. He is dedicated to using his expertise to provide underwriting guidance to our valued agents.

Marty joined First American in 2002 as a commercial title examiner for the National Commercial Services Division in Florida. He became a regional underwriter for the southeast regional office of United General Title Insurance Company in 2005 and an underwriter for the Georgia State Office of First American Title in Atlanta in 2010. Marty has served as underwriting counsel for the National Agency Division of First American Title Insurance Company since 2011. Prior to joining First American, Marty owned his own title agency in Gainesville, Georgia, which was in business for 16 years.

Marty received a Bachelor of Science in public administration from Georgia Stae University in 1969 and his Juris Doctor from Emory Univeristy in 1972. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1973 and is licensed to practice before all courts in the State. In 1975, Marty became a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and served as a Judge Advocate General’s Corp (JAGC) officer for 15 years.
