Prior to joining First American, Marina served as in-house legal counsel to the Narragansett Bay Commission, handling a wide variety of legal matters, including lien sale, land acquisition, contracts, employment, workers’ compensation, finance, and procurement. She was also responsible for monitoring the legislative regulatory landscape for pertinent changes.
Marina background includes ten years combined experience serving as legal counsel to a diverse array of lending institutions and mortgage servicers for Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire in creditor’s rights matters. Her responsibilities included analyzing federal and state banking regulations to advise clients on regulatory compliance issues pertaining to residential mortgage lending and servicing, debt collection, bankruptcy, receivership and foreclosure matters, including TILA, RESPA, SCRA, and FDCPA compliance, as well as compliance with CFPB, HUD and GSE requirements. She also performed title review and cleared title defects including drafting title resolution instruments, handling title claims and mortgage reformation actions.
Marina graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in management of information systems. She received her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. Marina is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar.
