We continually explore new ways to improve the speed and consistency of our recording process, providing reliable access to the latest technologies and services, like our Recording Fee Calculator and our Total Recording Solution Platform "TRecS - only available from an industry innovator. TRecS facilitates the submitting of documents to First American's Mortgage Services for electronic recording. In addition, our large vendor network allows us to offer the broadest national coverage as well as fail-over mechanisms when vendors might experience down time.

What do we offer?

  • Standard Recording Service: A comprehensive quality control review is completed to confirm that all documents meet county recording requirements. First American presents the document to the recording jurisdiction and stores recording information and recorded images in our database.
  • Walk-Up Recording Service: Walk-Up recordings include the same benefits offered through Standard Recordings, but with additional verification sent to the consumer providing presentation and/or recording information.
  • Extended Recording Service: Extended Recording Services supplements the Standard Recording process by performing an update of the original title search before presenting the document to the recording jurisdiction. Extension reports are delivered to the lender providing recording and/or presentation information and confirming that the title search was updated.
