Environmental Site Assessments (Phase II)
A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is a subsurface investigation conducted in accordance with ASTM 1903-02 that includes the collection of soil and/or groundwater samples from locations of suspected contamination on the property. Samples are analyzed quantitatively for contamination at levels above state and/or federal guidelines. A Phase II ESA is typically conducted based on the recommendation of a Phase I ESA that concluded a likelihood of site contamination that may include petroleum hydrocarbons or hazardous waste.
