A knowledgeable and customer-focused title professional with ten years of legal and title experience, Laura leads the Vermont underwriting team in providing highly responsive underwriting guidance to help agents facilitate the successful closing of real estate transactions. Laura joined First American Title in 2021 and recently served as Vermont Senior Underwriting Counsel. She began her career working for a firm in Connecticut, where she assisted clients with commercial and residential real estate, corporate and business organizational matters, and estate planning. Laura’s background includes working as an associate attorney for one of Vermont’s most prominent firms as a member of the real estate and business groups. She represented clients with the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, represented lenders in commercial lending transactions, and assisted developers of renewable energy projects in the acquisition and leasing of real estate. Laura’s previous experience in private practice affords her extensive hands-on knowledge that enhances her perspective as an underwriter and gives her a unique understanding of how our agents do business and what they expect from their underwriter.

Laura graduated from Nazareth College with a Bachelor of Arts in history and a minor in pre-law. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Western New England University School of Law, where she was ranked 9^th in her class. Laura has published two articles in the Western New England Law Review and received the 2012 Benjamin D. Novak Award in recognition of her outstanding writing in this publication. She is admitted to the bar in Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
